Brazilian jiu-jitsu is known as one of the most intense and disciplined martial art forms in the world. Though it may seem like a tough and rigorous sport to take up, it actually holds a lot of benefits, both physically and mentally. The most surprising of these benefits is how it can make you more money! 💰
Firstly, Brazilian jujitsu teaches you discipline. In order to truly succeed in the sport, you must be disciplined in both your training and your diet. This kind of self-control can be immensely helpful in all areas of life, including financial planning. By mastering your finances and saving money, you will find yourself in better financial standing than ever before.
Additionally, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaches you to set goals and work hard to achieve them - all while remaining calm under pressure. This is an incredibly useful skill in the business world, where pressure and deadlines are commonplace. By training your mind to stay focused under duress, you will be able to make better decisions and react more quickly in high-pressure situations.
Perhaps the “sexiest” way that Brazilian jujitsu can make you more money is by increasing your confidence. Hands down, through training and competition, you will learn to trust your own abilities and become more assertive in your decision-making.
This can be a major asset in the workplace, where confidence and assertiveness can lead to promotions and salary increases. (Plus there’s something empowering knowing that you can takedown the guy sitting across the board table from you 😆)
Finally, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides INCREDIBLE networking opportunities. Whether it's through your gym or competitions, you will meet people from all walks of life who share your passion for the sport. These connections can lead to job opportunities, partnerships, collaborations or even investment opportunities. In fact, I once landed the 2nd largest account in the city…simply through a mutual Brown Belt we both knew!
Seems too good to be true right? If BJJ could ACTUALLY give you confidence, earn you more money, and improve your network….why aren’t more people doing it?
I believe it comes down to one of 3 things.
- They’re afraid. Scared of getting hurt. Scared of starting something new. Scared of feeling like and idiot.
- They believe it’s completely unaffordable. Jiu-Jitsu is certainly not the cheapest investment you can make. Why Train Jiu-Jitsu for over $140/month when I can go to Planet Fitness for $10? Because PF entire business model if preceded on you NOT going. Hence you don’t get the results you want. And as we covered above…those who Train Jiu-Jitsu develop skills to EARN them more money in the future. Average ROI of Jiu-Jitsu is 3-4x on a low end.
- They don’t believe it. They simple think despite all the social proof that JJ gyms are just like any other fitness center.
I’ll end with this question. What is the COST of staying where you are?
Probably far more than the cost of a JJ membership.
See You On The Mats,
