There Are So Many Jiu-Jitsu Academies! How Do I Choose The Right One?

This! This right here!

This is the million dollar question.

Selecting a Jiu-Jitsu academy is not like picking out a pair of sneakers. 👟

It is entirely dependent upon what is important to YOU and what YOU value as a student.

Now we can go into a huge sales pitch about why we are the best.

But to be honest that would be a fruitless exercise. 🤷‍♂️

Because the “best” is relative based on what YOU need, want and don’t want.

For instance, we could talk to you about how Metro Jiu-Jitsu offers cleanest Academy in the state (with nightly mat scrubbing, ozone machines, cleaning disinfecting. and deep cleaning 2x/month.)

But that wouldn’t matter if cleanliness isn’t important to you. (Hey….we don’t judge 😆)

We could boast of how we have the largest mat space in the region (5600 sq ft of mats), inside a 10,000 sq ft+ campus.

But that would be in vain if you don’t like wide open spaces.

We could tell you that we SPECIALIZE in teaching beginners and ensuring they learn proper technique as quickly as possible.

But if you’re a Brown Belt looking for a new school, you don’t need beginner curriculum.  You need a solid program that offers advanced training (which we also offer 5 nights/week). 😃

If you want to be the next UFC champion….well we definitely ARE NOT the gym for you because we don’t do MMA. We focus and specialize in pure Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! 🥋

You get the point. 😏

So what do MOST people look for?

Here are the 5 main factors our members considered before choosing Metro as their new home:

• A welcoming and inviting team atmosphere

• A clean facility with easy access, lots of mat space, and professional staff.

• Coaches that are willing to make sure everyone understands the move and answer questions without condescending or belittling you

• Teammates you can trust to keep you free from injury

• A program they could make work with their budget (notice we didn’t say cheapest).

Now….it’s worth noting that 4th one is VERY important to us. To the point where we have and WILL deny your enrollment if we believe you are not a good fit for the team.

It’s how we protect our members and ensure our culture remains in tact.

“What would disqualify me from enrolling?”

GREAT QUESTION!

Give us a shout to find out. 😉

See you on the mats,
